Live Interview Workshop

As part of the School of Chemistry Postdoc Committee, I am pleased to announce our first Live Interview Workshop. This workshop has been organised in close collaboration with the Institute for Academic Development and Afton Chemical.

This event will be held on Monday 7th December (11 am – 1 pm) via Zoom. If you are interested in joining this live event, please send us an e-mail to chempostdoc-committee@ed.ac.uk for the login details.

This workshop consists of two online live interviews developed as a role-play where two interviewees will receive questions from a selected panel of experienced members for a Lecturer position and a Senior Scientist job in industry, respectively.  Through live input to the ‘interviewees’ attendants will have the chance to learn how to improve their answers during the interview process while receiving tips from experts from different fields.  In addition,  differences and similarities in answers between academic and industrial jobs will be also highlighted. Finally, a Q&A section will allow attendants to participate more actively asking questions, obtain further insight and get the most out of this workshop.
